Trent Savage began his musical career at the tender age of 11 with a performance on drums, bass and guitar at a fair with an audience of about 1000 enthusiastic fans. He was paid with pizza!
Having grown up on the mean streets of Winnipeg, he packed his bags and moved out west to conquer the world. Since arriving in Vancouver in 1991, he has become a mainstay of the local music scene.
First as principal songwriter/lead guitarist of 'Seeds 10' winners 'The Daisychain' who went on to record with Paul dean, Glen Ballard and the legendary Don Gilmour. Unfortunately, the band broke up in the studio during the recording of its debut album in the big leagues!
Not to be dissuaded, Trent forged ahead with 'Deluxe' a brit-pop influenced band with him again as lead guitarist and principal writer. The band got one single ?Baby that?s ok? onto regular rotation on several Canadian college and commercial stations, before disbanding in 2004.
Trent then signed on as lead guitarist with 'etwinz' local pop-punk musicians who worked with the likes of mike Fraser and and Dave Rave Ogilvie.
Since 2008, Trent has begun to see that maybe he should be the singer and has been performing as a solo act in Vancouver bars and pubs while quietly building a following and recording his first album. During this time, Trent has also been covering bass duties and performing with local act ?Tripsonic.?
Trent?s live band will begin performing this fall as he releases his first solo album. Recorded mostly at the Art Institute of Vancouver, it features Trent on all guitars, bass and vocals, with a few close friends (including art of dying drummer Jeff Brown) filling in on drums.
Trent Savage is looking forward to the challenges of fronting his new project and is proud to say that He has made HUNDREDS of dollars as a musician and STILL sometimes plays for pizza!
