The Shining Sea

The SHIN1NG came together in 2007 when a mutual friend and fellow musician Mike Hardy decided to bring some like minded friends together for a jam session. Mike had known and played with Paul Stevenson and Nathan Collins for years and thought his pal Joe Sather would be an interesting collaborator. The jam session that followed produced some very interesting results indeed, enough so that the four gentlemen agreed to do it again. This soon turned into the official formation of the SHIN1NG. Blending together elements of emotional alternative and indie rock with electronic nuances the band has forged a sound that is dynamic in scope and taste. It is as intense and dramatic as it is intimate and personal. "It is music that is meant to move and stimulate people, both physically and mentally. We want it to be thought provoking while still getting you up on your feet having a good time." In the late summer of 2008, Mike Hardy left the group due to musical differences but remains a close personal friend. The songs we have posted on this page were recorded live off the floor in our jamspace by our friend Saki and are being used as part of our album pre-production. Its no frills recording but it gives the listener an impression of what we are working towards.... The SHIN1NG are currently working on their debut album which they hope to release in 2010.
