Here's the skinny on "Your New Metropolis"
Essentially Your New Metropolis is a one man band. The only member is myself, Kyle Shaw. Its a musical art project that allows me a freedom of creativity to express something perhaps I couldnt normally say in a public forum through lyrics and sound. A soundtrack to whats going through my head at the time of creation.
Musically I come up with some sort of theme in my head and then wander into my home studio with some iced tea or MGD and sit down and crunch it all out. I rarely have a song written before I hit the home studio. Its written as its recorded.
While the core of the music definitely has an electronic edge to it - I try my best to ground the songs in a simple to follow format (no math rock here folks), and I make sure that each instrument is PLAYED in a physical format as much as possible on synthesizers (Moog, Access Virus, Nord Lead, Korg et al) and guitar (Paul Reed Smith, Gibson)

thanks for the kind words, and also, thanks, for being a moon cat....... Its given me the image of a cat wearing a spacesuit, twirling slowly throughout space whilst David Bowie's Outside album plays on repeat...in his ear piece......this amuses me.
